openCanvas 1.1

Because I promised my lovely students at Kuviskoulu to upload this here:

openCanvas 1.1 – Free drawing software

oC is an old-ish Japanese drawing software, and what makes it a lot of fun is that it’s free and you can draw real-time collaborations with your friends. Just download it, unzip and click on the file – it’s nice to have it on an USB stick for use at school or work too, since it doesn’t require any installing.

If the program’s showing strange characters, try changing its language like this: How to change language in OC1

I’ll update, translate and upload my old Networking tutorial here later, stay tuned!

Furry!Tein
Oh blub, I’m in a slump. Or, well, not exactly in a slump, just totally out of time (and energy, to some extent), too much work to do, too many ideas and concepts in my head.

Have some Tein I drew last week in class, still working on her proper design. She’s supposed to look sexy (even a little slutty! still debating on that though), with lots of jewelry&bling and some expensive fur lining. That skirt is just STUPID and I need to come up with something.. less silly and animu. I also hate separate sleeves with a passion, so I need to do away with them too — it’s just that bare shoulders look hot especially in a cold environment.

Actually I dislike almost all animu cliché clothing designs, like nonpractical uniforms (eg, “uniforms for the sake of uniforms”), ridiculously large shoulder pads or collars, separate sleeves and leggings or “over-wrinkly” clothes, which would in real life mean that the clothes are way too small for their owner!

And I need to get some new tools (someone stole my 03 mechanical pencil, again!!), because I’m feeling super inspired again after seeing Muhrri’s incredible sketches in-real-life. He’s awesome, and I want to become awesome too.

Things that have been lying around in my folder at school, mostly random sketches I’m never going to finish. All drawn in Photoshop (some may be Painter-made, but who cares).

Group shot I started back in September, never finished and probably never will. (read more…)

GW Sketches #1

I’ve had a couple GW commissions pending for, lahk, 6 months now >_>. Pending because a) I got fed up with the whiny community b) didn’t play much -> didn’t need the money c) honestly, didn’t feel like drawing.

So why then did I start drawing again last weekend? Uhh I don’t know, but I spent Sat-Sun at Laura’s and there were some of my GW buddies as well (Essi and Antti) so I sort of got inspired and managed to sketch those two commissions that have been lurking behind my back for way too long. And I drew them totally wrong.

Ranger commission
One commish I almost forgot about (since I’d originally lost the commissioner’s info and reference material, so I drew the character from memory, and only later realised she’s not wearing Shing Jea armor, but a combination of Shing Jea, Sunspear and Luxon (?). So gotta redraw the armor + fix the bobblehead and tiny feet (no surprise there). (read more…)
